ZOO STORY by Edward Albee and KRAPP’S LAST TAPE by Samuel Beckett
Coming to The Feichter Studio
March 29th, 30th at 7:30 and , & 31st at 2pm
The Sublime Theater and Press presents the classic Off Broadway pairing of the plays “Krapp’s Last Tape” by Samuel Beckett and “The Zoo Story” by Edward Albee. Featuring Steven Samuels, Scott Fisher, and Art Moore. Directed by Mountain Art Theatre Artistic Director Henry Williamson III.
Why see The Sublime Theater’s new production?
First, the plays themselves: Samuel Beckett’s “Krapp’s Last Tape” is simply one of the most poignant and lyrical dramas ever written in English. (Yes, Beckett wrote many of his works in French, but not this one.) Its portrait of an older man “drowned in dreams and burning to be gone” is one you’ll never forget.
And Edward Albee’s “The Zoo Story,” 60 years after its first performance, retains its capacity to shock and amaze. Both of these one-acts have been called “Absurd,” but we can see now that they’re deeply human and profoundly revealing. Each is considered a masterpiece, for good reason.
